About OWE
We are a personal network of professional women bound together by common interests and aspirations.
The Organization of Women Executives (OWE) was created in 1975 as an informal group of executive-level women in the Los Angeles area interested in developing stronger relationships with their professional peers. Over the next four decades, the organization grew and evolved a more formal structure to serve its membership, recruit new members, and manage a yearly roster of both formal and informal events.
Today, OWE maintains a membership roster of approximately 130 women representing a wide range of professional pursuits. But the organization has stayed true to its roots. OWE is, above all, about friendship. Our members are deeply interested in continued learning, professional and personal growth, dialogue, and, most importantly, camaraderie and personal relationships. As such, we leave politics, advocacy, fundraising and other equally admirable endeavors to other organizations better suited to these goals. In order to ensure the privacy of our members and maintain the integrity of our organizational purpose, OWE recruits new members via personal contact and invitation only.
Our MembersOur members are talented, ambitious, high-achieving professionals involved in business, government, education, philanthropy and the arts.They include corporate executives, attorneys, bankers, leaders in academic institutions and philanthropic organizations, successful entrepreneurs, and partners in professional service firms. As a group, they are highly motivated to succeed, and possess the experience, education and personal characteristics commensurate with the achievement of their goals. |
Our Activities
Our activities are scheduled throughout the year and attract 30 to 45 attendees, an ideal number for frank, stimulating discussion and personal connection.
Activities include both in-person and virtual events such as:
- Programs where speakers are invited to share their compelling personal story or expertise on topics of interest to our members.
- Neighborhood and member-only dinners where we create forums for thoughtful and meaningful discussion and personal connection. The neighborhood dinners are hosted by individual members, typically in their own homes, and are among the favorite OWE events! Member-only dinners provide us the opportunity to interact with the entire OWE membership.
- OWE’s Annual Summit is one of our most popular annual events and is held at a Southern California resort that offers our members one or two nights of conversation, rest, and relaxation.
- “Dialogue” creates an opportunity for us to learn and grow both professionally and personally. We bring in experts in areas of interest to develop and inspire our members.
- Social events include dine-out club, dine-in virtual dinners and speakers, outdoor activities, book signings, theater, opera or symphony, wine tastings, movie nights, museum exhibits, as well as other social events.
I am deeply grateful to have been a member of OWE for several years. Membership in this organization has enriched both my career and my life. Surrounded by accomplished women who lead with integrity and generosity, I’ve found inspiration, support, and a true sense of belonging. Through its quality programs, affinity groups, and Annual Summit, I’ve gained not only professional growth but also lifelong friendships. Additionally, OWE has given me the opportunity to connect with women across diverse industries and professional disciplines. What I treasure most are the trust and authentic connections that extend far beyond careers.
